About

Joey was born in Minneapolis, MN, before the Twins won their first World Series but after the Metrodome was built. He lived in St. Paul, Minneapolis, and a St. Louis suburb before his family moved to Rhinelander, WI, where he grew up. He was never eaten by a Hodag, but his parents did have 10 more children, some of whom did try to eat him.

He left Rhinelander for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in pursuit of a history degree. He thought he was going to teach, then thought he’d go to law school, then got a job offer in politics in his last semester. After managing a congressional campaign in Western Wisconsin, he realized he didn’t wanted to spend the rest of his life in politics. He did, however, want to spend the rest of his life with a cute girl he’d met.

A campaign volunteer worked for a software company in Minneapolis and approached Joey about a job. Joey had no software experience but the thought of an 8-to-5 job was nice. He got a job offer and said yes, then made an offer to the cute girl and she said yes.

In 2007 Joey married Jamie. They’ve lived in the Twin Cities ever since, settling in Burnsville in 2008 after stints in Oakdale and Bloomington. They are bona fide travel addicts and made their way through 25 states and 3 foreign countries in their first 3 years together before settling down and having twins Carson and Keira in 2010, Kaylee in 2011, and Cameron in 2012.

In addition to being a husband, dad, and manager at a software company, Joey spends his time following current events, sports, comedy, Jesus, all things Minnesota, and other things he likes. He also writes corny autobiographical “about” pages in third person.
